Lenovo Can Show You How “Smarter is a Sustainable Tomorrow”

Join Lenovo, ISC23 Platinum Sponsor, at Congress Center Hamburg (CCH) in Germany from May 22-25 in booth B213. This year, our theme is Smarter is a sustainable tomorrow.

Sustainability is a driving force for Lenovo as we develop computing solutions for the 21st century that enable our customers to solve humanity’s greatest challenges. We are uniquely positioned to guide our customers along their own sustainability journeys because we have begun pursuing our own. This year, we announced our commitment to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, validated by Science Based Targets initiative. Strategies for reducing our environmental impact include reducing packaging waste, harnessing innovation to increase sustainability in our manufacturing, and decreasing emissions
across our value chain. Here are a few examples:

Smarter packaging
Lenovo offers a flexible and less wasteful solution than traditional packaging methods with innovative rack integration. Servers are pre-installed and shipped in the rack versus shipping individually packaged server nodes, chassis, and racks. When shipping 36 1U servers in the rack, the estimated savings of packaging materials are 105 pounds (48 kilograms) of cardboard alone.

Smarter manufacturing processes
By employing a low temperature solder process in our PC manufacturing, we’ve reduced carbon emissions by 35%. Additionally, there is an estimated annual savings of 5,956 metric tons of CO2, which is equivalent to the consumption of 670,170 gallons of gasoline per year.

Smarter value chain
Lenovo has been a pioneer in the use of sustainable fuels and one of the first to participate in a pilot carbon-neutral air freight program. Shipments were powered by sustainable aviation fuel made of renewable waste and residue raw materials.
At ISC23, we look forward to sharing more with you about how we are minimizing our environmental impact and the solutions we offer to help reduce impacts from your organization. Visit booth B213 on the showroom floor to chat with an expert on Lenovo’s:
