The latest list of the top 100 HPC systems in China has now been released in English, exclusively on TOP500.org. The list is released by the Specialty Association of Mathematical & Scientific Software (SAMSS), CSIA.

Here are some of the highlights of the 2014 list:

• The total Linpack performance of China’s TOP100 systems is 68.5 Petaflops, with 67 new systems entering the list.
• There are 3 systems on the list that achieved more than one Petaflops in Linpack performance and 3 systems in peak performance.
• The No.1 system is still Tianhe-2 from NUDT installed at Guangzhou.
• The No.100 system has a Linpack performance higher than 206 TFlops.
• The average Linpack performance of the TOP100 list is 684 TFlops.
• Almost all systems use cluster architecture. There are 6 systems using heterogeneous architecture in the TOP10 and only 7 systems in the TOP100.
• Sugon and Lenovo both have 32 systems and therefore the largest system share in the TOP100 list.
• Sugon, Lenovo and Inspur together have a 85% share of all TOP100 systems.
• The major application areas are internet service, supercomputing center, government, etc.
